The 2023 Rugby World Cup pool C clash between the Fiji Water Flying Fijians and the Wallabies next week will be a special one for Wallabies winger Mark Nawaqanitawase as he faces off with his countrymen.
Nawaqanitawase, who was instrumental in the Wallabies’ 35-15 win over Georgia last week, says it is pretty special, having a Fijian heritage.
He says he has been watching the Flying Fijians play ever since he was growing up and there are a few players in there as well that he has looked up to.
He says there was one of those moments where for a split second he was thinking of going down that path but he is grateful for how things have turned out.
Nawaqanitawase says any team coming up against the Flying Fijians has to tighten up a few things to overcome them.
He says the Wallabies will want to tighten up and make sure that they are connected because the Flying Fijians are going to bring a lot of mystery.
He adds Fiji can do anything out of nothing so they just got to make sure they are connected and ready for the Fijians.
The Wallabies will take on the Flying Fijians at 3.45am next Monday in Lyon.
