Plans to make 2 animal pounds in the Ra Province

There are plans to make two animal pounds in the Ra Province.

Assistant Minister for Agriculture Viam Pillay told this to farmers in Ra during his two-day tour of the province.

Pillay told the farmers the Ministry was concerned about the growing number of stray animals in the country which was affecting farms.

He says the Ministry has been allocated around $1.3 million specifically for the control of stray animals and says that these funds will be utilized to equip the ministry with more resources such as trucks and other vehicles and hiring of personnel to carry out these works.
