Plans on redeveloping the Suva Municipal Market and the Suva Bus Stations will be one of the major capital projects of the Suva City Council.

Special Administrator Chandu Umaria said the bus station needs to be upgraded with the market.

Umaria added that the plans will be submitted to the Ministry of Local Government where the cost is around $60 to $90 million.

The new market plan is expected to have multistory building with Air-Conditioning market and a double story bus station.

Umaria said the date to start the construction has not been confirmed and they are hoping that it will begin later next year.
