Planned new Laqere market to help over 200 market vendors

200 market vendors from Nadera, Nepani, Nadawa and surrounding areas will soon benefit from a new market in Laqere, Nasinu.

Nasinu Town Council’s Manager Engineering, Mosese Yavalanavanua says the Ministry of Local Government has provided $1.2 million for this project which will include adequate facilities for women, a proper rest room, changing and feeding rooms especially for those who come from the interior of Viti Levu.

He says there are a number road side market vendors and the council hopes to provide facilities for them as this will ensure safety for the vendors and customers.

Work on the site is expected to begin in two weeks.
