It is still yet to be confirmed whether Vodafone Fiji Sevens lanky forward Pio Tuwai is going to play against Japan in the quarterfinals this afternoon.
Coach Ben Ryan had said last night that Pio Tuwai was up and walking again after sustaining a leg injury in their 33-19 win over England.
Ryan said they will not underestimate the tournament hosts’ Japan in the quarterfinals.
Fiji had also beaten Wales 19‑10 and defeated Hong Kong 33‑14 to top Pool A.
Looking at some of the interesting pool matches from yesterday, Australia upset New Zealand 19-12 and Samoa drew 26 all with Argentina while Japan beat Samoa 26-12 in the second round of pool matches.
In the other cup quarterfinal draws, England will face France, New Zealand meets Canada while Scotland will take on South Africa.
Fiji will meet Japan at 2.20pm in the first quarter final.
The Cup semifinal will kick off at 6.22pm while the Japan 7s Cup final starts at 9 tonight.
