Following government’s confirmation, the COVID-19 withdrawal relief for Phases 2 and 3 have been extended to June.

FNPF Acting CEO Viliame Vodonaivalu says Phase 3 Round 4 will open next Monday on 15th March 2021.

Phase 3 Round 4 is for FNPF members who are still at work but are on reduced hours or a reduced wage rate.

Vodonaivalu adds Phase 2 Round 5 will open a week later on Monday - 22nd March 2021.

Phase 2 Round 5 is for FNPF members who are still on leave without pay due to COVID-19 or were unemployed from October 2019.

He says they acknowledge government’s critical role in the extension of the relief, given that a large number of members now have insufficient balance in their General Account.

Vodonaivalu adds those members who have exhausted their General Account, will continue to receive the relief pay out which has been enabled through the subsidy or top ups provided by Government.

He says more than 39,000 people who are currently accessing Phases 2 and 3 of the COVID-19 assistance have insufficient balance in their general account.

$234.8 million has been paid out so far to affected FNPF members through Phases 2,3 and 4 of the COVID-19 relief assistance.

Vodonaivalu says of this amount, the government top-up total is $109.8 million.

He says $125 million was paid out of members funds.
