Education Minister Rosy Akbar says many petty issues are reaching the Ministry when heads of schools can resolve it themselves.
While speaking at the Fiji Muslim League Teachers Awards Night in Makoi, Akbar says heads of schools are trained to have the passion to understand a situation and the ability to resolve the issue.
She says they have thousands of schools to look at and many at times they see petty issues reaching the Ministry where they have to intervene to reach an amicable solution.
Akbar also urged teachers to understand students behaviour adding that some children may be behaving a certain way because they didn’t have breakfast in the morning, come from a family where there is domestic violence every day or have to go back home after school to work to earn a living.
