People of Taveuni are calling for more frequent shipping services to the island.
Garden Islands Root Crop Company Limited Manager Mukesh Chand said farmers are finding difficulties in sending their crops to Suva.
According to Chand there are other problems on the Island which needs to be considered.
A villager from Dreketi is also hoping more markets for yaqona will open up outside the island as they do not get good prices for yaqona on the Island.
Viliame Golea told Fijivillage that many crops were damaged during Cyclone Evan earlier this year and he is recovering slowly.
He said people in his village also plant dalo and breadfruit.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama visited the new extension of Taveuni Secondary School this morning.
He is expected to visit the Coconut Processing Center, Agricultural Station and a new prison complex at Correction Services in Taveuni later today.
