People living in Tavua, Rakiraki and Nadarivatu currently facing unplanned power outage

Thousands of people living in Tavua, Rakiraki and Nadarivatu are currently facing an unplanned power outage.

Energy Fiji Limited says the outage occurred when a tip-truck which was dumping bagasse near the FSC Rarawai Sugar Mill contacted EFL’s 33,000 volt transmission line.

EFL says repair works are currently underway and power supply in these areas is expected to be restored late this evening.
