Thousands of people are affected due to water disruption in Labasa caused by a suspected burst main along the Navau and Nasealevu raw pipeline.
The Water Authority of Fiji says the team are unable to continue with the work as the Dogoru and Nasaqa crossings are flooded, and further inspections will resume once floodwaters recede to ensure the safety of their staff and efficiency of repairs.
They say once the WAF engineers can safely assess the extent of the damage, people will be informed about a timeline for repair and service restoration.
They says that water carting trucks are on standby and will be dispatched to assist communities in need during this disruption.
