NDMO Director Vasiti Soko

The National Disaster Management Office has initiated a TC Yasa Loloma package in collaboration with Fiji Revenue and Customs Service and Fiji Airways.

NDMO Director Vasiti Soko says under this package people who send relief supplies from Auckland, Sydney, and Los Angeles will receive a 30 percent discount on market cargo rates while there is also an exemption of VAT, Fiscal Duty and Import Excise.

She says the discount on cargo rates is valid till the 15th of this month and is dependent on the availability of space on the flights.

Soko says people can either contact the NDMO Office or individuals or organizations that have registered with them.

Soko has also confirmed that they have certified 59 individuals and organizations who are raising funds and collecting items for Fijians affected by Tropical Cyclone Yasa.

Fiji Revenue and Customs Service Director Revenue Management Fazrul Rahman says they are prepared for any sort of abuse such as contraband items and screenings will be done to counter this.
