Stade Français Top 14 winger Peniasi Dakuwaqa is a young player with raw explosive power.
Fiji Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne highlighted this to the media from their home base in Georgia saying some of the work Dakuwaqa has done in the French League is pretty special.
He says when Selestino Ravutaumada opted for the 7s team for the Olympics and Vinaya Habosi also being unavailable for family reasons, there was a spot available on the wings.
Byrne says they thought that bringing him in now is an opportunity for Dakuwaqa to understand how the Flying Fijians work.
Dakuwaqa who has been dubbed the Flash for his speed and strength is among the five debutants in the Flying Fijians side that will play Georgia this Saturday.
He says it was his grandfather's wish was for him to don the white jersey for Fiji and this was the opportunity he has been waiting for.
The Flying Fijians last met Georgia in last year’s Rugby World Cup in France, where Fiji won 17-12.
They have met six times over the years, Fiji has won four while Georgia won once, and they also drew one game.
Fiji takes on Georgia on this Saturday at 4am at the Adjarabet Arena in Georgia.
