The Fiji Pearls have moved up to 16th place in the World Netball rankings.
The Pearls say the World Rankings was updated to include the results from the international series that took place from the 30th of September to the 10th of December, with 84 matches taking place across Netball’s five Regions.
They say this takes the number of matches played since the annual update on the 1st of March 2023 up to 202.
Fiji Pearls has replaced Samoa at 16th, following their silver medal finish at the Pacific Games. The Fiji Pearls won all their games in the pool stage, as well as their semi-final, before losing to 8th-ranked team Tonga in the Final.
Netball Fiji CEO Vivian Koster says they are happy that the Fiji Pearls have increased their world ranking.
She says it’s a slow build to increase their ranking, but that is how the Netball rankings work.
Koster says it includes older matches dating back to 2019, these will eventually fall off, and Fiji will likely increase their ranking again.
