A 30-year-old pastor is amongst 10 people brought to Suva following a one-week drug operation in Kadavu.
Police Chief Operations Officer ACP Rusiate Tudravu says Operation Cavuraka moved to Kadavu last week where more than 10 farms were raided and more than 700 plants ranging up to 2 metres were uprooted.
The 10 people arrested are aged from 20 to 53 years.
A total of 13 people were arrested and 6 have since been charged with unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs, 3 with being found in possession of illicit drugs, 1 with criminal intimidation and resisting arrest while 3 men were interviewed and released.
They will be produced in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
Police are also warning members of the public not to threaten the officers who are conducting the raids as they had an incident where a suspect threatened the raid team with a cane knife.
ACP Tudravu says if these people are man enough to associate themselves with these illegal activities then they should be man enough to face the consequences when caught and Police will not tolerate any threats against its officer.
