It's not about the money but it's about the passion for the game.
Those were the words of Fiji Water Flying Fijians tighthead prop Mesake Doge when sharing his experience of coming back home to play for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua.
Doge says it has been an exciting journey for him and one of those journeys where you wake up in the morning and you realise that your dream is becoming a reality.
Doge says coming back to Fiji to play for the Fijian Drua has taught him a lot of things and one of the most valuable lessons he learnt was that rugby is all about passion and not about the money.
He says most players that have secured contracts overseas have forgotten about the passion and he is grateful for this opportunity to come back home and play in front of his home fans and families.
Doge says now it is on to the next task and he is blessed and excited about this opportunity of representing his country at the Rugby World Cup in France.
The Flying Fijians will play England at 2.15am this Sunday at Twickenham Stadium in their last RWC warm-up match.
Fiji’s first RWC game will be against Wales at 7am on the 11th of next month.
