The passengers and crew of the vessel Lomaiviti Princess 11 have been rescued and have safely reached Levuka.
The vessel struck a reef while on its way from Natovi to Levuka this morning.
About 40 passengers were on board the vessel when it hit the reef.
A passenger told fijivillage News that they were stranded on the reef for about 2 hours.
He says they were rescued by the Saint Mary's boat which is owned by Venu Shipping.
In a video sent to fijivillage News, the passengers were also seen wearing life jackets as they were preparing for extraction. Meanwhile, Goundar Shipping has advised its customers that services to Levuka have been cancelled.
The Goundar Shipping Services are trying to recover the vessel Lomaiviti Princess 11, which was grounded this morning on a reef close to Levuka while it was on its way from Natovi.
fijivillage News received information from a passenger that about 40 passengers are currently onboard the vessel and have been stuck on the reef for more than 2 hours now.

The passenger says a boat has arrived at the site, but attempts to remove the vessel from the reef have been futile.
In a video sent to fijivillage News, the passengers can be seen wearing life jackets as they prepare for extraction.
