The high number of day scholars at Adi Cakobau School is affecting the achievements and the quality standard that is wanted of the school.
These are sentiments echoed by school principal, Salote Nawalowalo at the prize giving ceremony that was held in Sawani yesterday.
Nawalowalo added that some weaknesses shown by day scholars is that they arrive late to school, they are also absent from school most of the time, their behavior is different and they are seen to visit places that they are not allowed to go to.
She has asked the parents and guardians of the respective students to monitor their movements to maintain the dignity of the school.
To date of the 683 students at Adi Cakobau, 322 are day scholars and 361 are boarders.
Apart from that, other concerns at Adi Cakobau are the decrease in the number of students and the amount of space and resources available at the school.
