Melbourne Storm have escaped with a 15-14 win over South Sydney Rabbitohs in a scintillating finish to their NRL contest last night.
With the Storm leading 14-0 entering the final 10 minutes of the match, the Bunnies struck back with three quick tries in the space of nine minutes.
That set the stage for a mammoth last-gasp two-point field goal from Rabbitohs star Latrell Mitchell from 48 metres out to send the game into extra time.
Outstanding Storm fullback Ryan Papanhuyzen then stepped up to slot the game-winning field goal in the third minute of extra time to ensure coach Craig Bellamy marked his 500th NRL match with a win.
