The Pacific Housing Forum aims to look at safe, resilient, affordable housing and its accessibility in Fiji and other Pacific countries.

Habitat for Humanity New Zealand and Habitat for Humanity Fiji conducted a Housing Eco System Assessment focused on the broader housing sector in Fiji with regards to basic services, housing affordability and the security of house and land tenure.

Habitat for Humanity Fiji National Director, Susan Naidu says the assessment is to understand the issues around people's ability to access affordable housing. Naidu says Habitat for Humanity wants to support people to thrive through housing by applying a people centred approach to reduce inequalities and to ensure more people have access to sustainable housing.

She adds that the forum is to discuss and strategise on ways to come up with ideas, where participants look into thematic areas such as informal settlements, climate change and impact of demographic changes.

Over 100 participants are currently attending the forum at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.
