Pacific Games: Koroi wins silver in 105kg Powerlift

Salacieli Koroi has won silver in the Men's Raw Open 105kg Power lifting at the Pacific Games.

Koroi deadlifted a weight of 302.5kg.

His total lift was 695kg.

Meanwhile, Team Fiji Va’a captain Elenoa Vateitei won gold in the Women’s V1 marathon.

Team Fiji Boxers Aminiasi Saratibau and Ronit Chand settled for bronze after losing out in their semi-final bouts.

Brieanna Rabakewa won bronze in the Women's Discus, and Laisani Hacere won bronze in the Women's High Jump.

The Men’s and Women’s 4˟400 metres will be held tonight. The men’s final will be at 8.15pm and the women’s final will be at 8.30pm.

Vishant Reddy and Evueli Toia will run in the men’s 1,500 metres event at 7 tonight, while Lilieta Buna and Akeneta Lutu will feature in the women’s 1,500 metres at 8.20 tonight.

The 200-metre men’s heats, semi finals and women’s 200-metre semi finals will start at 5.15 this afternoon.

Fiji is still in 5th place in the overall Pacific Games medal tally with 15 gold, 20 silver and 29 bronze.

New Caledonia is leading with 70 gold, 44 silver and 45 bronze while Australia is in second place with 42 gold, 20 silver and 8 bronze.
