Pacific Recycling Foundation says World Environment Day and World Oceans Day are expected to attract over 500 participants, including government leaders, agencies, development partners, civil society organisations and students this Saturday.
PRF Founder, Amitesh Deo highlights the need for environmental action and is rallying individuals to unite in PRF's roadside campaign to collectively make a significant impact in safeguarding the environment and oceans.
Deo says the environment and oceans are under unprecedented threat and this campaign is a call to action for every individual, community and government to take a stand and we must act now to safeguard our planet for future generations.
He says the roadside campaign will also allow participants to voice their concerns about the individual, corporate, and political greed that continues to be one of the root causes of environmental degradation.
The campaign will take place from the Koronivia Roundabout Junction toward Rewa Bridge at 7am Saturday.
The theme for Environment and Ocean Day is "Stand Up in Solidarity to Protect Our Environment.
