Good news for the staff of Public Rental Board as they have received salary increments and will also receive their bonus payout for the 2016 financial year.

Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum has announced that the total amount payable for bonus is $30,317.

He says the good news is that a total of $23,402 will be paid out to the non-management staff while $6,915 will be shared amongst management staff.

PRB has 48 staff. 20 are unestablished staff while 25 are established staff. Three are management staff.

In addition to this, Sayed Khaiyum has also announced that the staff of PRB will also get salary increments and the total amount which has been backdated to January 1st, 2018 is $129,887. This was made possible after the Job Evaluation Exercise.

This is not it as the non-management staff of PRB will get additional salary increments on top of the increments after the Job Evaluation Exercise. This is worth $10,590 and this has been done to acknowledge the individual performances of these staff.

Sayed Khaiyum says the individual performances of PRB staff needs to be recognised as the staff collected about 77 percent of rental that is due.

Sayed-Khaiyum also says that while they are trying hard to increase home ownership in Fiji, an expert from World Bank who specialises in low cost and affordable housing has found the cost of construction in Fiji per rental property is extremely high.
