PM visits Fiji Maritime Academy

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama visited the Fiji Maritime Academy to see the progress of the new simulation training facility.

Fiji Maritime Academy Executive Officer, Captain Suren Gurusinghe said the simulation training facility is a new concept that has been introduced into the maritime course.

Gurusignhe said the training that students undertake using the simulator is more effective as it is monitored by skilled and trained instructors.

He added that everything is recorded and they have brought in virtual reality into the school where we can simulate search and rescue operations.
