Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama urges political parties not to stir up rumours that are incorrect.
While officiating at the commissioning of the teachers' quarters at Cautata District School, Bainimarama stressed that through the incorrect information, many students on the 23rd of last month did not attend school and even some did not sit for their exams.
He says incorrect information affects many people since most of the people rely solely on social media for information.
Bainimarama says the new teachers' quarters will enable teachers to have a home to stay in and also provide the highest quality of education to students.
He also urges parents to always be aware of their children's progress.
The teachers' quarters cost $145,850.77 and was funded by the Office of the Prime Minister through it's small grant scheme.
