Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is urging Fijian families to get themselves vaccinated against measles.
While speaking in parliament today, Bainimarama says if anyone has any doubt, they should visit the nearest health centres to have their child's health records checked, they will be immunized on the spot if needed.
He also says that the outbreak in Fiji remains restricted to the Serua/Namosi subdivision.
He has also expressed his condolences to the people of Samoa, where people have lost their lives due to the outbreak of measles.
Bainimarama says the lives lost are mostly children under the age of 2 years.
He has asked Fijians asked him to join in prayer that the outbreak is quickly contained and the Samoan people are spared the further loss of life.
