Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama along with several government ministers and the Acting Police Commissioner toured the newly renovated Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints today.
The Suva Fiji Temple is the only LDS temple in Fiji and was closed in October 2014 for renovations.
It serves more than 35,000 LDS members in Fiji, Vanuatu, Kiribati and the Solomon Islands.
LDS Manager for Materials Management Sulueti Kama said the renovations cost the church millions of dollars.
At the end of the visit, the Prime Minister showed his appreciation and gratitude to the LDS Church for allowing them to show him why the LDS considers temples sacred.
Bainimarama was also presented a copy of his family genealogy by the LDS family history centre.
The temple will be open for public visits from 25th January to 6th February.
