The Fijian Community in Australia has been assured by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama the viciousness of racism in Fiji is called out and condemned when it rears its ugly head.
Speaking at the Fiji Day celebration in Liverpool in Sydney, Bainimarama says the notion of national unity was undermined by a diverging gap in opportunity, equality, and inclusivity.
He says every citizen in Fiji can proudly call themselves a Fijian and hold confidence that their voice and vote matter equally.
The Prime Minister also called on Fijians in Australia to come home and celebrate the country's 50 years of independence next year.
