To put an end to brawling incidents such as the one that occurred in Raiwai on Sunday morning, the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has given specific direction for the arrest of everyone involved to be investigated, charged and produced in court, and this has been assured by the Commissioner of Police Sitiveni Qiliho.

Bainimarama and the Minister for Defence Inia Seruiratu was briefed on the incident.

Qiliho has reiterated that all efforts are being directed towards the arrest of those involved in the attacks in Raiwai on Sunday.

He says of the nine suspects, five have been arrested to date, two have been charged and will be produced in the Suva Magistrates Court, while three continue to be questioned.

Qiliho says four people are yet to be arrested and they have received information that one suspect has moved over to the Western Division and a team is pursuing his whereabouts.

The Commissioner has commended the support of the public in coming forward with information and witnesses have been forthcoming in assisting the investigation team.

Qiliho says the same group of youths are involved in similar incidents recorded in the past, and officers have been directed to arrest everyone involved, have them charged and produce them in court to put an end to these incidents.
