Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama today commissioned the new seawall at Rukurukulevu, Nadroga that will enable the people of a number of villagers to be safe from the effects of climate change.
The 400-metre seawall project was carried out by the Ministry of Waterways engineers at a cost of $430,000.
Bainimarama says when they received the call for the construction of the new seawall, they acted on it quickly because the safety of the people of Fiji is paramount.
The Prime Minister adds that the whole of Fiji is facing the wrath of climate change and has assured the people that they will not stop their fight against climate change.
