Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama closing the Climate Action Pacific Partnership Conference

This was the time for us to make our voices heard as leaders of the most vulnerable nations.

These were the sentiments shared by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama while closing the Climate Action Pacific Partnership Conference.

Bainimarama acknowledged participants from Fiji and around the region for the energy, commitment and dynamic thinking they have brought to the meeting and for the spirit of sharing and collaboration.

He says that the energy and drive that he felt at this conference was even greater than a year ago and it is fuelled by a year in which they have worked hard on both practical and political grounds.

Bainimarama says that they have also been developing practical solutions for mitigation, adaptation, resilience and financing.

The Prime Minister also thanked the Australian, New Zealand, Canadian, France and German Governments for their financial support for this conference, and to the many governments and international institutions that have supported Fiji’s presidency.
