Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is calling on all civil servants to help him as they have helped the last elected government for the last eight years.
He says civil servants have committed themselves to work for the people when they entered the civil service.
While speaking during his traditional welcome by the staff, Rabuka says they stopped being politicians when they were declared members of parliament - they become servants of the people just as civil servants have always been.
He says he tells his colleagues in the party that once they get into parliament, they stop being a member of the party, they become the voice of the people.
