Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has told the board members of Hilton Special School to carry on with their projects that has been put on hold due to some land issues.
Head Teacher Nanise Ravisa said the school is currently located on a piece of land that belongs to the Ministry of Health where various school projects cannot be done.
Ravisa told the Prime Minister that every time they have tried to do any developments, the Health Ministry has said that it is the ministry’s land.
During his visit to the school yesterday, Commodore Bainimarama assured them that they will not have any more problems with the piece of land.
Commodore Bainimarama added that they are also willing to contribute $7,500 for the extension of their vocational center.
Ravisa also informed the Prime Minister that there are indications that Gospel High School will no longer allow students from Hilton to attend Gospel High next year.
Commodore Bainimarama said he will not let this happen.
The Head Teacher is expected to meet with the Gospel High School principal today before a final decision is made.
Meanwhile, Hilton Special School will hold its 50th anniversary celebrations today.
