Pacific Fishing Company Limited will be able to stock more fish as they are looking at starting work on a new freezer in Levuka.
Chairman Ikbal Jannif said the 4,000 metric tonnes freezer will be located on the footprint of the previous freezer building which was burnt down in 2008.
Jannif says government has given a $9 million loan while Bumble Bee Foods has also loaned them some funds for the construction.
He says work on the new freezer will begin at the end of this month and it is expected to be completed by October 2016.
800 people are employed by PAFCO and majority of them are locals from the Island.
