The People’s Alliance, National Federation Party and SODELPA are committed to the coalition agreement.
The coalition partners meeting was held yesterday at the People’s Alliance office.
Deputy Prime Minister and People’s Alliance Deputy Party Leader, Manoa Kamikamica’s message to the people of Fiji is that the coalition is alive and well.
He says they had a very good exchange of views on how to lead this country together.
Deputy Prime Minister and NFP Leader Professor Biman Prasad says right from the day when the coalition was formed, the coalition has been very strong, and determined, and they have worked together very well. He says like any coalition anywhere in the world, there would be discussions about issues, and about things that happen.
Professor Prasad says yesterday’s meeting is to really affirm their strong commitment because the people of Fiji are enjoying the newfound freedom and stability, and what they are looking forward to is this government delivering on its promises, and they will.
He adds they have all been busy doing the work that is needed after the 16 years of mess.
SODELPA MP and Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu says SODELPA is committed to the coalition and they will be there for the next 3 and a half years. He says they will continue to meet and discuss all the agreements and the way forward, but they are committed to the coalition.
SODELPA hold the balance of power in the coalition government with 3 MPs – Viliame Gavoka, Aseri Radrodro and Ifereimi Vasu.
SODELPA met last Friday and they wanted answers on what is happening to their board appointments and diplomatic postings that were agreed to before the coalition agreement was signed.
fijivillage News has been told that SODELPA has certain expectations in the National Budget as well based on the agreement.
It was confirmed early this year that SODELPA was offered 3 ambassadorial positions and 22 board member positions.
