P. Meghji develops resort in the Mamanucas

150 jobs are expected to be created by April next year following the completion of a five star resort in the Mamanuca islands.

The P. Meghji Group which so far has been associated with the provision of dry and frozen goods and all types of beverages have ventured into the tourism sector and is now developing the first ever five star resort to be owned by a local.

Executive Director Romit Meghji said the $35 million investment in the Mamanuca Group is currently employing 300 people.

The resort which will be known as Sheraton Fiji Resort and SPA Tokoriki Island is expected to have 101 rooms.

He added there will also be indirect employment for the landowners who will be displaying their handicrafts.

P. Meghji Limited currently supplies beverages to hotels and resorts around the country and according to the Executive Director, they have seen the industry grow.

Romit Meghji said the government is also supportive as they have invested into the new aircrafts which will bring in more tourists.

A management agreement was signed between Ritam Investment, one of the companies owned by P. Meghji and Starwood group who will be operating and managing the resort.
