More than a hundred women took part in this year’s Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk at the Fiji Museum this morning.
The walk was organized by Graduate Women Fiji which is a non-profit organisation of women graduates, working to promote education and to improve the status of women and girls in Fiji.
Graduate Women Fiji President Maria Ronna Luna Pastorizo-Sekiguchi says the organisation partners professional women with women who may need mentoring.
She says they are currently in the process of organising other Walks in the Western Division next month.
Prominent businesswoman and mentor Dr.Nur Bano Ali says most young women simply need reassurance because they already know what they are doing.
She adds that some young people may feel achieving their goals is difficult and they only need guidance.
Mentee Margaret Gabriel who is a tutor at the Fiji National University she has had a reassuring moment today.
She says she hopes to inspire other women and especially her students.
Graduate Women Fiji was founded in 1983 by a group of university women in Fiji and are part of Graduate Women International.
