Over 900 people from Serua and Namosi have been placed in the Tikina ready pool for the Seasonal Work and Employers Scheme recruitment.
Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Jone Usamate says that these names will be given to the employers in New Zealand and Australia upon request.
The Ministry has continued consultations this week on the district based criteria for seasonal work opportunities in Serua and Namosi.
Usamate adds that the tikina based seasonal work recruitment was established to encourage youths of rural areas and add value to rural development and enhance agricultural innovation.
He says that the intention is to minimize the urban drift of unemployed youths, create job opportunities and alleviate poverty in the rural settings.
