Over 800 residents to benefit from Wainibuku road upgrade

More than 800 residents will benefit from the upgrading of the 2.6 kilometer Wainibuku road in Nakasi.

Fulton Hogan Hiways which is responsible for the upgrade has nearly completed the road works in Nakasi and more than 200 farmers who are living along the road are already reporting an improvement in access to their market.

Sikeli Sikivou who is a vegetable and dalo farmer in Nakasi says they are relieved and happy with the road upgrade and it has made work easier for them in taking their produce to the markets and even the children to school.

Fulton Hogan Rewa Depot Supervisor Suliasi Lesianavanua says that an 8 man crew are grading and re-sheeting the road surface with gravel, removing the overgrown vegetation and improving drainage.
