Minister for Education Premila Kumar has revealed that attendance in schools is now over 70 percent despite the adverse weather conditions and some sections of the community not in favour of schools being re-opened.

While speaking at the Nadi Teachers Cluster, Kumar says opening of schools was crucial.

She says we all know that they cannot keep the schools closed forever and face to face learning is the best mode of learning.

Kumar adds while they can combine e-learning and other modes, nothing beats face to face learning.

The Minister has also thanked teachers for their effort during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Fiji.
