Education Minister Rosy Akbar says Eid-al-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice is about having compassion for those who are less fortunate than us and these values are even more important during this current pandemic that we face.
While giving her message for the festival, Akbar has urged Fijians to get vaccinated and protect ourselves, our families, and thousands of Fijians from this deadly virus.
Akbar also says our unity has helped us overcome many challenges and we must not forget this.
She adds in times of uncertainty, we must have faith in something bigger than ourselves - to guide us through the hardest of times.
Akbar says when you have faith, you know things will work out the way it’s supposed to.
She says we must think not only of ourselves but of those who may not be doing as well as us.
Akbar adds at the end of the day, we are all in this together, and we will need to help each other through these times.
