Police Chief Operations Officer ACP Livai Driu

Police Chief Operations Officer ACP Livai Driu has assured the public that our security situation is stable and they are reducing crime through their strategic plans.

While speaking during the fijivillage Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan, ACP Driu says looking at the crime rate in the last 5 months, they have achieved all their Key Performance Indicators, which means that all crimes have decreased.

He says they are also managing well on the criminal front and they have poured out all their manpower and resources to maintain all the KPIs that they have been given.

When questioned on some people saying that the work of the Police Force is ineffective and crimes are increasing, ACP Driu says they only work on the registered reports that are reported to all Police Stations in the five divisions.

He says if some people have that perception, they are free to contact them or the management to clarify their stand.

The Chief of Operations also highlighted that if a person has a concern in regards to how their reports are being handled by officers, they are free to contact them and this concern will be taken to their audit team who will follow up with those officers.

ACP Driu says they have a procedure in place within the organisation that always deals with the officers in regards to non-performance and if complaints are coming from the public.

He also stresses that Police do not react to reports on social media and he is urging every Fijian if they have witnessed or need to report a crime, to visit one of their Police Stations.
