Operation Lesu I Vale launched to assist street dwellers

Operation Lesu I Vale has been launched to assist street dwellers return home or find solutions to the problems they are currently facing.

The humanitarian effort is being conducted in partnership with the Fiji Police Force, Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Ministry of Social Welfare and the Suva City Council.

Men and women who are currently living on the streets were escorted to the Fiji Police Academy last week where they were offered medical and counseling services.

A medical team also had the opportunity conduct COVID-19 health awareness and vaccinations.

Officials from the St Giles Hospital were also present.
