Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says that the opening of teachers' quarters in Cautata District School and Ratu Veikoso Primary School in Buretu will enable teachers to have a home to stay in and also provide the highest quality of education to students.
While officiating at the commissioning of the teachers' quarters at the two schools, Bainimarama says the investment in the schools is evidence of the deep personal commitment to the education of the current government.
Bainimarama says while the projects may seem small to some people, he sees it as a large impact to the people of Fiji.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister also stressed to the people of Buretu and Cautata to stop listening to empty threats and lies especially if it can undermine the progress of the nation.
He also urges political parties not to stir up rumours that are incorrect.
Bainimarama says through the incorrect information, many students on the 23rd of last month did not attend school and even some did not sit for their exams.
He says incorrect information affects many people since most of the people rely solely on social media for information.
Bainimarama has urged parents to always be aware of their children's progress.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the government will continue with the Free Education Scheme next year since education is one of the top priorities of the government.
The teachers' quarters cost $145,850.77 each and was funded by the Office of the Prime Minister through it's small grant scheme
