The chiefs from each province should elect their Great Council of Chiefs representatives and it should not be decided by the Provincial Councils.
This was the suggestion made by Maika Ravetau to the GCC Review Committee during the consultation at Nausori Village Hall.
Ravetau says in the previous sitting, members were elected by the chiefs from the province, but he is now unaware how the GCC members were elected.
He says the council's name is the Bose Levu Vakaturaga and the chiefs should elect their members.
The GCC Review Committee has now visited 11 provinces.
Committee Chairman Dr Jone Baledrokadroka says they were there to listen to the public and make recommendations on the new set up of the GCC.
