One death from dengue fever, about 2,000 dengue fever cases this year

One person has died due to dengue fever while there have been about 2,000 dengue fever cases so far this year.

This has been revealed by the Minister for Health, Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete who says they are handling it relatively well, as there are other outbreaks around the world where more people have died. 

There were 4,000 cases of dengue fever in the country last year and nine people had lost their lives.

The Ministry of Health is working with the World Mosquito Program to disseminate mosquitoes carrying wolbachia bacteria that will reduce the number of dengue fever cases.
