The Fiji Men's 7s Rugby side will face Ireland in the third quarter finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics Rugby 7s competition at 8am today.
Fiji qualified for the quarter finals after topping their pool.
We thrashed Uruguay 40-12 in the first match, then defeated the USA 38-12, and we beat host France 19-12 in the last pool match.
Fiji is the only team that has never lost any Olympic rugby 7s match since its inception in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
In other quarter finals, New Zealand will meet South Africa at 7am, Argentina will take on France at 7.30am, and Australia will face the USA at 8.30am.
The semi-finals will kick off at 1.30am Sunday, and the final will be at 5.45am Sunday.
Looking at the results from this morning, Samoa thrashed Kenya 26-0, Australia beat Argentina 22-14, the USA beat Uruguay 33-7, South Africa thrashed Japan 49-5, and New Zealand beat Ireland 14-12.
The Fiji Men's 7s Rugby side have topped Pool C after defeating France 19-12 in their final match this morning.
France started the game well by scoring an unconverted try in the third minute through Aaron Grandidier Nkanang to lead 5-0.
Fiji rallied back, and captain Jerry Tuwai crossed over for Fiji's first try to close the game at 5-all at half-time.
Kaminieli Rasaku and Joji Nasova scored a try each in the second half to put Fiji in a 19-5 lead.
France came back in the dying minutes to score a converted try.
Fiji will take on Ireland in the third quarter final at 8am today.
The Men’s quarter-finals will kick off at 7am today. There will be a break tomorrow for the official opening of the Paris Olympics 2024 before the competition resumes on Sunday. The semi-finals will kick off at 1.30am Sunday, and the final will be at 5.45am Sunday.
