James O'Connor’s Super Rugby Pacific campaign is over after being diagnosed with a low-grade hamstring tear and is expected to be sidelined for a month.
The 30-year-old had only returned from a knee injury in the previous week and his absence was felt by the Reds, whose season went off track with a four-game losing streak.
The Queensland side now faces an even tougher prospect when they travel to Christchurch this Friday to take on the Crusaders at 7.35pm. Meanwhile, the Wallabies will open their Test matches against England on July 2nd and if O'Connor is unable to prove his fitness, Noah Lolesio and Quade Cooper will likely battle for the Wallabies' No.10 jersey.
In other matches, Moana Pasifika will play the Force at 7.05 tonight, the Fijian Drua will meet the Chiefs at 3pm Saturday, Moana Pasifika will take on the Brumbies at 7.05pm Saturday, the Waratahs will play the Blues at 9.45pm Saturday, the Force will meet the Hurricanes at 12am Sunday and the Rebels will take on the Highlanders at 4pm Sunday.
