Northern Air today unveiled their new 19 seater aircraft that will be providing services to Nausori, Nadi, Labasa, Taveuni and other airstrips around the country.
Speaking at the unveiling of the aircraft at Nausori airport, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Transport Lorna Eden thanked Northern Air on this initiative and for investing in Fiji’s aviation and tourism sector.
Eden says the tourism sector in Fiji is the largest income earner and accounts to one third of the GDP, and the government recognises the benefits of spreading the tourism dollar throughout the country.
She says that Northern Air started in 2007 with one aircraft and 9 years later they have 9 planes adding that their aim was to provide additional services to Fiji’s Northern Region and they have achieved it.
Eden says that the tourism sector in the North and Levuka are overjoyed with the arrival of the new aircraft.
Meanwhile Northern Air CEO Ranjesh San says the aircraft will start providing services in two weeks-time.
