Nominations for candidates for 2018 general elections closed

Nominations for candidates for the 2018 general elections closed at midday today.

Parties filed their final nominations in the last hour.

Fiji Labour Party’s Leader of Candidates, Aman Ravindra-Singh has filed 25 names on behalf of the FLP.

FijiFirst Party General Secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has submitted the final nomination to replace Naziah Ali who was disqualified last week.

Sayed-Khaiyum handed in the nomination of registered valuer Sanjay Kirpal.

The National Federation Party has also filed their final nomination after Feroz Mohammed was disqualified. They have submitted land surveyor, Himayat Ali’s nomination.

SODELPA has also submitted one nomination after Adi Narayan’s disqualification.

SODELPA has submitted businessman, Nilesh Jaduram’s nomination.

Unity Fiji’s provisional candidate Liga Gukisuva confirms that they have submitted 31 nominations.

HOPE also submitted their nominations just before midday today.

They are still at the Fijian Elections Office.
