There is no word as yet on how many locals and landowners in Nadi will be employed under the $290 million five star casino project.
High chief of Dratabu village in Nadi Ratu Meli Saukuru said although he has welcomed the project, he cannot confirm how many people from Nadi will be given employment.
Meanwhile, the casino will create 900 jobs for completion of construction and 700 more jobs once the casino and the convention centre and the five star hotel are completed.
The casino is expected to be completed by October next year.
